What the fediverse and twitterverse before it did to him is inexcusable, no matter anyone else's hot take (especially mine). No god-damned wonder he's done.
Let's try and do better. At least in this small corner of the fediverse, I enjoy seeing none of the toxic shit I was subject to on 
(and I wasn't even a target!)

@yakkoj i’m discouraged. i replied to some person being bothersome & mean — because i sincerely think this new wave of people doesn’t understand what we’re doing i.e. why log not for fame/validation — and returned to somehow 5-10 replies-to-my-reply which is an uncomfortable amount of attention for me, and every single one was rude unwelcoming and devoid of the courtesy we as yet do sanely expect. let’s not make expecting kindness insane.

@nydel oh yes... we are not wrong to expect basic kindness and respect due anyone. I tend to not only treat others with this respect, but do so because that's how I'd like to be treated.
No amount of vitriol or ostracism should make us shameful that we have this basic expectation.

i often wonder whether the sdf turns unkind bodies nice or simply doesn’t attract them! either way thank you for remaining kind encouraging and not silent.
