The Splinternet, where there's many different versions of the internet depending on where you live, has officially taken place.

Although it has been in the works for years, I feel today is the official start of that thanks to Apple.

@joeo10 @Techmeme ah, so EU regulators probably forced Apple to do some good things, and Apple decided to make sure that nobody outside of that region will benefit.

@HunterZ Exactly, hence the Spinternet where one region has a much different internet than the other. It's only going to grow even wider.

@joeo10 it would probably help a lot if the US wasn't so impotent when it comes to regulating tech.
