Every couple of months I like to share with new people or people on new instances how to add #Mastodon timelines into #rss feeds:
https://mastodon.sdf.org/@cosullivan.atom
Roll your own: https://[federated.instance]/@[userid].atom
Could be worth trying if your favourite accounts are 8-16hrs away, or if you detect spotty synchronization issues between instances. #Mastodon101 #rss
@cosullivan merci beaucoup for boosing β₯
it is such a nice way to get to know lovely and inspiring people arround here - thank you!
@cosullivan The upcoming version of Mastodon (2.4.0) will also have https://[federated.instance]/@[userid].rss which doesn't carry all the OStatus metadata that the .atom link has.
My gripe with it is that the title for all posts still is "New status by [userid]", which is terribly unhelpful for consumption in RSS readers.
@cosullivan That's so cool. I love RSS! β€οΈ
That works good.
@hairylarry Thank you most kindly. You didn't know I needed this, u my ego is lower than New Orleans' sea level, but after a careless and costly experience I needed some evidence I had an IQ above room temperature. Thank you for that.
I have been planning out a Free Culture Mastodon instance to eventually live at curators.mixremix.cc and having RSS feeds on the curators allows me to have outward facing views into the instance.
@cosullivan It also works with .rss (which is one letter shorter).
@cosullivan Sorry i couldn't help commenting on your name: my dad is a cosullivan too: cool name :) (one of Munster's finest )
