Do I have to use Play Store with a Google account to download apps on Android? I deleted my Google account, but I will get a new fake one if I have to.

@mtechman i use f-droid myself. f-droid.org/ however it uses mostly floss software.

or you can sideload apk files onto android device from a site like apkpure.com/

however such sites are targetted to spread malware so have to be careful

@zxm @mtechman Droidify is a much better F-Droid client these days since it has other repos and you can add as well. I use it and it's recommended.

@joeo10 @zxm Thx for adding this! I'm looking at it now....do I chose any recent release from GitHub?

@joeo10 @zxm Do I download all 3 assets? Feel free to tell me if you are too busy to walk me through stuff--I can reach out to my ex-student!

@mtechman @zxm Just download the app-release.apk file and follow the instructions on your phone. I'm sure you have to allow the app access to install apks before completing the install process though but it should be easy.
