I don't suppose there's a escape sequence that causes it to display some text in a new window? Because that would be an interesting alternative to a traditional : instead of paging through the output of a program, it is displayed in its entirety in a separate window.

I think used to do this with man pages, but the feature seems to have been removed.

Two options come to mind:

1) askubuntu.com/questions/420981

2) some terminal emulators can be set to go to a text file in a new window as well. Only done it with TeraTerm, and on an XP machine. Idk if it still works.
