I've changed. I used to prefer apps installed on my computer because the browser versions were inferior.
But my experience with sureveillance-ware on phones makes me prefer browsers now, even on the desktop, where I can manage (to some extent) the third-party Javascript that gets loaded, popups, &c.
I'm likely deluding myself that the in-browser apps are any safer than installed apps, tho.
