The earth
Will yield
To the burden
Of my body,
All the love and
Grief in me
Seeping into
The soil,
Traces of
A life lived
On broken glass
Freed,
And I will
Finally sleep.

Your imagery varies, @Aphelion. Here you see death as release from suffering. In other pieces, if my memory serves, you seem to see it as a gateway and renewal.

These are not mutually exclusive.

Broken glass - difficult to walk on, dangerous, causing injury in life. Love and grief dispersing as bodily fluids from a corpse in death - an emotional release.

But, nothing is ever lost. Recycled, not lost. This seems implied in the word "freed".

To write this, though, suggests you need sleep now, also. Go get it, and melt into the night a while.
