Alex Schroeder<p>This is how part of the AI training cost is offloaded to the sysadmins of the world. <br>Muchas gracias. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/emacs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>emacs</span></a> <span class="h-card"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@hispaemacs" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>hispaemacs</span></a></span></p>
Philipp :emacs: :nixos:<p>This is what the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/rust" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rust</span></a> book (and I guess most Rust documentation, since the Rust book was generated using the same tool) looks like in <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/emacs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>emacs</span></a>' integrated browser, "eww". A bit concerning when you consider that these are static pages of mostly text-based information - why doesn't it look more accessible?</p>
nebunez <p>Hell yeah, my <a class="hashtag" href="https://fuzzyroots.net/tag/godot" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Godot</a> &lt;&gt; <a class="hashtag" href="https://fuzzyroots.net/tag/emacs" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Emacs</a> workflow is pretty solid now. This is so fun and enjoyable to work now. 💃 🚀</p><p>Debugging isn’t optimal but I can debug if I need to. Mostly I just need to run my project or scene on demand, and now I can –straight from inside Emacs with F5 or F6!</p>

Today I had another confirmation that the fediverse is a beautiful place. Where else can this interaction happen?

You start following someone.
The person you started following checks your profile and reads your personal blog.
The same person suggests, by tagging and involving another person, to include one of your blog posts about #emacs in a newsletter.
The blog post is actually included in the newsletter (sachachua.com/blog/2025/02/202)

Thank you @screwtape @sacha I really enjoyed the interaction!

Screwing around with @kiwix on my PC some more, it turns out the linux desktop client can run a local server to serve up content, and it doesn't look tooooo bad in emacs. I also discovered there's at least one python package for interacting with zim files, so now I'm wondering how hard it would be to get an emacs zim-mode going...

I was adding #magit todo to my #Emacs config today. Seeing that magit also dropped dash I tried to port it away from dash. First off all understanding as quite hard since it looks out of place. Anyway I got most out of the way but the thing I'm not sure of is to replace --> and group by. I know there are thread macros but there isn't a replacement for thread-first-all. Any ideas?
That's what I have so far:

I'm using erc in #emacs for IRC stuff, however, when the laptop sleeps, the connection is not recovered when I wake it up.

I was considering moving to rcirc, but I could not make it work with my bouncer that has user/password authentication
