MetaArray IV will be implemented in TWO systems: MAIVa as NetBSD and MAIVb as Debian. Since 45% in the poll prefered we have decided to offer two independent MetaArrays which will be equally maintained. You can choose to use either, or both .. effectively doubling your storage capacity. The disks have been donated and are ready to install. Standby for a cut over event announcement from MetaArrray III. And BTW SDF.

@SDF , are you really considering Debian GNU/Linux? Oh...no..come on guys, it has to be a BSD. OpenBSD would be awesome but if it wakes up too many trolls please please please keep runing NetBSD. Have fun with the new gear and keep up the good work !

@Neo_Chen IIRC, @SDF already runs NetBSD and the admins are familiar with it. It makes sense to stick with it, since sdf.org is one of the biggest NetBSD installations.

MetaArray IV is coming to the Tukwila datacenter with a dual 48TB (mirrored) raid - but what host OS would you prefer for SDF?
