Ali Abunimah, executive director of The Electronic Intifada, was arrested by Swiss police in Zurich. Abunimah was questioned at the airport upon arrival and later detained ahead of a speaking event.
His arrest follows a pattern of crackdowns on expressions of solidarity with the Palestinian people in Western countries.
Last year, several activists and journalists, including Asa Winstanley from The Electronic Intifada, were also targeted.
