Okay, so I am just throwing this out there: over ?

I am missing the nuance.

Recently I learned about , and it got me thinking that we might still be able to salvage email security.

@maiki Yes, I'm quite sure. CopperheadOS, e.g., as a security focussed mobile phone OS,
lists OMEMO before Signal. Perhaps you're also fine with perfectly designed GPG email
in a very advanced Mutt set-up. ;)

@mastor That is an interesting point, and what I was getting at: I use GPG with mutt, but recently I've started inching towards the camp that 20+ years in, we probably aren't getting the adoption we'd hoped for.

Using across devices has been an impressive experience for me, and I am used to manually exchanging and signing keys! So maybe there is something to combining OMEMO with standard email.

maiki @maiki

@mastor Okay, here's an evolution on that idea: stop using email! Instead, let's iterate on top of it, while also building out better messages storage and retrieval systems.

For instance, I delete my mail after I process it. I process it by reading and sometimes updating data elsewhere (like a calendar or wiki).

I think humans have a hard time not hoarding data. Might as well make us better at it.
