So hey, is anyone starting any art-specific servers? The "I am an artist" category on joinmastodon.org only lists 2 that are actually themed around art (one if you discount photography), and mastodon.art is invite-only so there is definitely a need here

@tomasino @SDF @Gargron I have always thought of SDF as a marriage of tech and art (mostly thru music) -- smj & Red Martian, anonradio.net, SDF music compilations, etc SDF also attracts a lot of artists who adhere to the free software movement (I call them "tech hippies" 😝 artists who have considerable knowledge of tech) like @greg @laemeur tob et al. I am not in the tech business but I love promoting art with technology (not trying to be Apple, Inc here) 🌈🍎

@snowdusk_ @laemeur @greg @Gargron @SDF I guess it's kind of weird, but I always thought about that robot toy on the floor of the kid's bedroom at the beginning of Time Bandits. What happened to it after the giant foating head chased them all down the hallway. Maybe it grew up into a space ship and a bunch of nerds all joined up to share the good old days. That's SDF to me.

@publius I'm so glad you asked the question! I've seen them mentioned so many times but have never watched them, so I just YouTubed 'em. *MIND BLOWN*
