Stone cold frozen metal weather
Meanwhile, my half-assed impromptu window seal job did make an improvement in reducing the draft from outside. Nothing like a 42 square foot hole in the front of your house to let the heat out... https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/ysvSW1tvPiz_X4vp54o https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/u014eG4e-1SmJ_qXKWQ
"Who uses desktops anymore? Get with the times and get a tablet!"
Meanwhile, I install AMP2HTML Firefox extension on both desktop and mobile.
I take opening loads of tabs for granted on desktop. Lets see me work with 100 tabs open on this sodding phone! Not to mention I get to type with a real keyboard on the desktop instead of poking at glass.
And with each one of those noises out of the 1541, time slows down even more
Still, without Catweasel or Kyroflux, this is as good as it gets. It's certainly better than nothing!
1 block every second. 1 256-byte block per second. 256Bps. https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/TEzc3DXi9BMud3MwYuE
Something tells me this will be the slowest 171kB I've ever transferred. https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/dM58C7cNnf-a-Aue7y0
Making the 1541 be unit 9 so the SD2IEC can always be 8 (since I won't be using 1541 nearly as much)
I prefer this to cutting jumpers since reversing it won't require soldering. https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/v1cR2cLN1w7dSxEAknM
Oh, yep. It's the old "no one would dare read our website on a mobile device in landscape" issue. 🖕
Good Christ, Techcrunch... please test your site on something other than an iOS device, or a device in portrait orientation, and also test on the desktop (really, unsure which it is; it could be any or all of these) https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/qOeptzNtLBU-jC1CXM0
also compatible with reliable computers https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/yEyP0pxAbErJcIVzNqY
It takes a lot of room because of the 1541 https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/2wDF0c6f26eX9UQojCs
It all works! Now to set this thing up on different desk. https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/WyZGeafSTlO_29VwIS8
Fresh meat from Blandford, Dorset. SD2IEC and fast loader! https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/Mg2L7tqxKl47saqTrho
I say "GIF" like the peanut butter, but won't think any less of you (or correct you) if you say it with hard "G"
The same deal happens in the telecom world, where telecom folks pronounce "route" like "root". (I, being IP networker, pronounce it with an "OUT".)
After lots of iterative trial and error, I turned Apple IIgs monitor listing of DOS 3.2 RWTS into something I can use with cc65.
And then I realized I only needed the FORMAT part, as I already had most of the 13-sector RWTS as source. :oP https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/XTrrsBgrVG1jeYgUb7U https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/qECmFRA-CAIeJT05XlA https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/dfHlD1RTpR_3dmQ0Dqo
Ad blockers are a symptom of a diseased system. Ad networks want you to believe that not giving them unrestricted access via js is your problem.
"Please disable ad blocker" is an attempt to treat the symptom while ignoring any real problem, all of which are on ad networks' side.
The solution from a user's POV is to disallow js they don't trust, and they should rightfully view "disable ad blocker" as a not-solution.
Remember when there was documentation that came with a product which told you how it worked and how to use all the special features? It became a lost art back in the 1990s. https://mastodon.sdf.org/media/M0vFarpZFOfnKCUlfqs
