If you haven't yet, watch Netflix's movie "Come Sunday" - a biopic of Bishop Carlton D. Pearson that spans from 1996 to 2004 - a story that illustrates how faith isn't as immutable as what many preachers would have you believe, but is something that is always evolving.

The film ends with Pearson's meeting the Rev. Yvette Flunders (in reality they met at a conference but in the movie it looks like at her church City of Refuge UCC).

Since then Pearson became a pastor of New Dimensions Worship Center UCC, which eventually merged with All Souls Unitarian Church, when he left for Chicago.

In Chicago, he spent two years as interim minister of Christ Universal Temple (UFBL - founded by Johnnie Colemon, spin off of Unity).

Now he is back in Tulsa as an affiliate minister of All Souls Unitarian Church, as well as leading the New Dimensions Chicago, a New Thought congregation that consists of those who stayed with Pearson when he was pushed out of CUT.

So now he is an ex-Pentecostal (COGIC), United Church of Christ-ordained minister preaching at a UU church, from combination of Pentecostal and New Thought doctrinal perspectives.

It can't be a lot more complicated but I can relate because I was all of the above.
