The Australien Government has made an ad to announce the 2025 election, and it's surprisingly honest and informative.
@thejuicemedia I’m not sure I’ve seen the new actress previously, so welcome! Or please forgive my bad memory. The voice reuse is a bit confusing, but not unexpected in a two-party system where everyone says the same thing, I guess…
@thejuicemedia this is fucking genius, well done
@thejuicemedia
Sadly also applicable to the UK.
But even more so in the UK because you have a totally shit voting system. At least we have preferential vs first past the post.
@kingsleybugarin @thejuicemedia
Indeed, and both major parties see no advantage in changing that.
@thejuicemedia@mastodon.social wow thank you ̶a̶u̶s̶t̶r̶a̶l̶i̶a̶n̶ australien government!
@thejuicemedia Just like in Brazil!
@thejuicemedia Brilliant, as usual, and true for many places...
@thejuicemedia Love how everyone is commenting how applicable this is to *their* country. It’s *almost* as if voting doesn’t change anything by design and is yet another tool of the ruling classes to keep the people, the working classes, divided amongst themselves arguing about who’s the lesser evil instead of organising to seize power. *Almost*.
@thejuicemedia How did I not know #TheJuiceMedia was on Mastodon???? Thank @godpod I found you here! Miracles can happen!
@thejuicemedia You guys are the best!
@thejuicemedia This isn’t just a bad bill; it’s a betrayal of Australian voters. These changes were rushed through Parliament without proper scrutiny, debate, or transparency. The biggest changes to electoral laws in 40 years deserved a multi-party inquiry, not backroom deals.
It’s clear: the major parties are more interested in protecting their duopoly than serving the people. This is why we need strong, independent voices in Parliament, voices that aren’t beholden to corporate donors or party machines.
