Folks really need to stop repeating "plural of anecdote is not data", as if that's some kind of religious mantra, without understanding the content

"My cousin got sick after drinking the water" is an anecdote. "My village has 20 sick people from drinking the water" is most definitely data

That saying has been co-opted by folks who think it's OK to poison certain wells, virtual or IRL, as long as their bottom line is intact

Check if you've been profiting from poisoned wells before repeating it

@cypnk mostly, people bad understand and estimate chances in artificial tasks, like in Kahneman book. but the same people very good in real life estimations :) nobody will drink from pond with twenty bodies lies around its coast :)
