Honestly, I think "death" as a mechanic's basically seen as a nonevent to the modern gamer; I honestly don't see a reason to bother with making it vital to the gameplay. Points scored make more sense.
But that's me. 🤷
@sydneyfalk That's reasonable, but I suspect that many of From Software's recent hits would be quite different without their death mechanics.
