Stumbled across this blog post here, and was kind of impressed with their second to last method of keeping #pkgsrc up to date, and started switching my NetBSD laptop over to it.

Renamed /usr/pkg to /usr/pkg-2017Q3 and planned to symlink it back. However I found out I couldn't run ln with sudo as I just broke sudo's shared lib path.
I couldn't 'su' either as my root shell was set to /usr/pkg/bin/bash.

@satchmoz I hosed my AWS instance in a very similar way. I mis-formatted a sudoers config.
