@maiki Have you looked at Pidgin's third party OMEMO plugin by any chance?

github.com/gkdr/lurch

Ive been meaning to see if I can get it to build, but I don't know how interoperable it is. And I know youve tried a bunch of the OMEMO solutions out there.

@satchmoz I make a note for lurch as well, but a couple of points from my Dino note apply (interi.org/notes/dino/):

1. I prefer to use packaged software.
2. There are a lot of caveats and warnings for that and the related carbons plugin.

If it were just me and my free computing peeps I'd be all over it. But I am looking for something that a new user can install (meaning simple instructions, or an "app store" option).

I haven't found a solution among those listed at omemo.top. 😩

@maiki Ive been kind of scratching my head privately over my own options.

None of the native XMPP clients on Sailfish OS support OMEMO and the gajim package on NetBSD seems to have problems, and as youve mentioned before it seems to have interoperability issues.

Having done a few packages now, ive been mulling on trying my hand at diving into the package on Gajim or focus on packaging one of the many plugins out there but haven't decided which direction yet.
