A for users:

Do you have thousands of old photos that are taking up too much disk space?

1. Download jpegoptim (it is in the Ubuntu repo)

2. Put your photos in a directory (or, like me, organize by months by doing something like:

mkdir -p ~/Photos/2018/11
mv IMG_201811* ~/Photos/2018/11

3. Run jpegoptim like this:

jpegoptim --size=250k ./*.jpg

4. All photos in the directory will be automatically optimized to around 250kiB (change this as you want).
