I’m mostly liking OpenBSD but /usr/local not being in the clang search path is kind of a pain in the arse.

I also wish I had VSCode.

Oh boy, there's a site tracking the #Freenode to Libera.chat migration with the most on-the-nose domain

I replaced the hard drive in my T440p today, and since I need to reinstall an OS anyhow, I went with OpenBSD 6.9.

This week, the product I work on was broken by a rate limit on Docker Hub, then a bug(?) in Terraform, and today by limits in AWS.

Luckily I could fix the Terraform caused outage quickly, but the Docker Hub one and this AWS one, I can’t.

The one big thing with everything going “cloud” is that you lose control of your business - limitations and outages somewhere else that you have no control over can hurt you. Badly.

The major (very major) upgrade is now complete. Welcome to v3.4.1

I’ve been trying to play with BGI in Borland C for DOS. It’s been a while. I never wrote C in the DOS days, just Pascal and I never learned graphics. Didn’t have anyone to help me with the math. Now I understand the math.

I tried using DJGPP and the g++ compiler on a 486DX/33. Yeah. No. So. Sloooooooow.

Sticking to Borland C++ 3 on that machine. Don’t need modern C++ that badly.

This is my Turbo XT addon. It adds an 8Mhz mode to the #IBM 5160 #pcxt and a reset button.

It's based on a schematic that floated around on VCFED a few years ago. It gets sandwiched between the 8284 #clock generator and ura socket, and can generate the clock using the original crystal or by diving an oscillator output by 3. It also turbo automatically while DMA is ongoing. Of course, at least the #CPU must be replaced.

Will release everything after testing.

Just because it’s a little easier, I’ve taken to setting up my DOS image on my ThinkPad instead with PCem.

I loved DESQview/X.

Uhm, that didn't take long:

Dear #retro bubble

These will need a new home or will hit the trash.

Partially still shrink wrapped.
