Using a NPS (Net Promoter Score) to judge the health of your organization is deeply flawed and could lead you to thinking you're doing better than you actually are.

It doesn't take into account people who didn't answer the survey at all. Those folks are either detractors or passives.

Finally setting up my PowerMac 6500. Get to the installer desktop and notice something missing in Disk Utility…. The hard drive that was supposed to be in this machine.

And of course the clips on the case broke and the case cracked slightly. Oops.

@thomasfuchs we could use some of that up here in Seattle (well the entire Pacific Northwest needs it)

“You still haven’t told me why you don’t want me to change this”

Yes I have, but you just don’t like my reasoning.

Could it be better? Always. Does it need to be, especially right now? No.

“Not sure why you don’t want me to change this”

Because there’s nothing wrong with it.

@murph having been chased down / nearly run over by a car, I’d say your caution was warranted

"We need to make this API more RESTful"

No. It's fine. Stop that. That's not what's wrong with that endpoint.

Ahhhh having to interact with multithreaded code in tests. Always fun.

I installed 9front in a VM because I keep hearing I need to try out Plan 9.

Well now, that part is done but I have no idea what to do from there.

So one company subcontracts out work to another company. Said secondary company wants to keep biometric data on me for seven years.

Fuck off.

@tbn97 ahhh makes sense. I know the network drivers come from FreeBSD so I’m sure there’s no AC support yet.

@tbn97 does it have ACPI suspend now? The two things for me are that and 802.11ac drivers. My primary personal machine is a laptop.

TopSpeed Modula-2 hates memory managers. Badly. It likes to crash QEMM and EMM386. Boo.
