You know the odd delay/echo sound you here from digital TV's all on the same channel while walking through your house...

That it what walking through a drive-in sounded like.

It's not the ubiquitous experience it used to be, but much like BBSs, Drive-ins are still around, if you look for them (at least around here). We have at least one across the Mississippi River in Illinois about 45 minutes away.
