After finishing the 4th season of The Expanse my conclusion about the overarching narrative is: no matter what happens, there will always be humans who are going to kill each other because of it.

Fortunately the story also has a few characters with a bit more enlightened attitudes, even if they are a small minority.

As far as I see it, that makes the show even more grounded in reality than the pretty accurate way it presents spaceships, interplanetary travel and long-distance communication.


I agree with all this. I've really enjoyed how they've kept human nature consistent in their writing across the seasons.

The only thing I wish they would do is the no-sound-effects-in-space realism that Firefly did.

@paladin1 It is a shame that they are not above employing that dramatic device. I guess because of space battles 🙄
