project update: I'm stalled. I bought motors and ESCs and you have to solder them together or put connectors on them.

The chassis I have been is space limited. If I solder the motors & ESCs together I can't replace a broken quadcopter arm without desoldering. So connectors would be better, but the ESCs have some kind of square tab that I have to figure out how to attach a connector to.

Plus I have never soldered before. That's probably the real reason for the stall.

@paladin1 I haven't played with R/C cars in forever but we used to use Deans or Ultra Deans connectors. Might be useful.

@dokuja Deans are a classic choice. Given the setup I'm thinking an appropriately rated bullet connector, or maybe an XT60.

@paladin1

Ah yes I couldn't remember the new connectors that are all the rage. The XT60s.

You could use bullet connectors but I suggest using dielectric grease for them. Just mind the connections or devise a color/gender scheme to minimize confusion.

Ooh, or maybe the connectors that are popular with hams: powerpoles.

So many choices.
