I'm also not sure if my sdf membership has been upgraded to full (I did make the paypal payment but not sure if I allocated it to the USA or Euro bit of sdf and am not sure how to check what facilities I currently have, still very new to sdf..)
SDF.eu is, IMHO, lamentably isolated from the US server and undermaintained (even worse than SDF proper). I would not be surprised to find out that no membership level on the EU server gives you access to the VOIP system, but I could be wrong.
@solderpunk @tomasino @vfrmedia just a reminder, anyone can dial in to the sdf switchboard and follow the extension to the conference bridge. i know we prefer people use their sip credentials but in a special case such as waiting on membership during holidays i think it is okay to do it that way if you happen to be awake & talky during the hour :)
unifo returns that
has validated my account (its still not clear to me which level of membership I actually have. Some commands are however available I couldn't use when I first joined.
I tried to make a homepage which sort of works but gives a permissions error when attempted to access from "outside"); and eventually want to use the gopher but need to remember how to work that!
@vfrmedia @tomasino @nydel If validation is the last event listed, then you are "just" a "validated user" (the second part of "USERS (free)" at http://sdf.org/?join). A one time payment of US$36 will permanently promote you to ARPA level (which is what I'm at) and give you access to the VOIP system. You could run `uinfo solderpunk` to see how your own `uinfo` output would look after that.
@solderpunk thanks- that works :) now not 100% sure what I should do with this webspace though. I assume you just edit it using normal HTML like old skool days (will have to remember how to do that) 😉
@vfrmedia Oh, and once your memebership upgrade is processed, CGI becomes an option, too. Technically CGI is already an option, but as a validated user the only languages you can use for it are ksh, awk and sed, so unless that sounds like your cup of tea you may want to hold off!
