Was looking for something to read so I searched my bookmarks for something tagged 'relax'. That's how I ended up reading The Star -- I really loved it. I wonder how it got into my bookmarks in the first place! https://sites.uni.edu/morgans/astro/course/TheStar.pdf
SDF aNONradio is celebrating 25 years on September 7th. Here is a little blurb from the Honolulu Weekly October 8th, 1997 asking the question: "The Internet has been touted as the public square of the Global Village. but does it have a decent radio station?"
How many of these are still around today? Come and party with us September 7th, 2021!

I've been a software engineer for almost 10 years now and I still keep going back to the basics (possibly because I didn't study software engineering nor computer science in university). Every time I'm reminded of how with a few basic constructs one can achieve a lot. Then I think of real-world jobs I've had, where tools and abstractions abound, but there's often little substance.

@dokoissho@merveilles.town If you don't want to host your twtxt.txt in a place of your choosing — mine is at SDF http://nicolagi.sdf.org/twtxt.txt — you can get an account on this "pod" https://twtxt.net/, AFAIK. But I haven't tried the latter.
@dnjp@merveilles.town Got it, thank you for clearing up that minor mystery for me! I'm a bit surprised though: I only scroll with b1/b3, and I love the surgical precision of that; I can point and click at what I want to be the last/first displayed line that way. I sometime drag while holding b2 if I'm looking for something. I don't use the scroll wheel nor arrow keys. (I use acme more often than sam, but scroll in the same way.)
Here's my mind-blowing video for today:
@chaosmonk thanks 😊 I love how 9front forces me into a more slow computer life. I keep the frenzy state of modern computing on my work machine and my pocket device and so far so good!
