Thought I'd show how to turn geotagging on and off in the LineageOS camera app.

I don't know how it is with regular Android or iOS, but at least in #LineageOS you can turn #geotagging on and off directly in the default camera app settings. So if you're worried about your location data getting out that way, leaking it, or accidentally doxxing yourself, you can set it so that geolocation isn't even added to the #EXIF ("metadata").

In case anyone was not aware.

Great question on HN today: "What can a coder do to help combat climate change?"

The responses are all pretty lame, though. What ideas do you have? What groups are doing something tangible where volunteer coding could help?

From the NYT:
"Before it leaked, EternalBlue was one of the most useful exploits in the NSA’s cyberarsenal. [...], analysts spent almost a year finding a flaw in Microsoft’s software [...] it went on to become a reliable tool used in countless [...] missions.

EternalBlue was so valuable, former NSA employees said, that the agency never seriously considered alerting Microsoft about the vulnerabilities".

A. Use Microsoft? Get hacked.
B. Why do anyone trust the NSA?

this strike won them a 5% pay increase and the right to talk during lunch, in case you needed a reminder that if capital had its way your worklife would be entirely dystopian

Face mites: you have them. Don't worry, they're almost always harmless — and they can even tell you where you're ancestors came from.
