[From a CFP I'm following. Melts my brain a bit.]
"As daily whereabouts become digitized and digital technologies, data and algorithms make their way into core processes in organizational settings, we need to address avariety of questions about the workings and power effects of technologies, including how they allow us to control and circulate information and affects, condition cognition, produce knowledge and manage organizational affairs."

"Creative understanding does not renounce itself, its own place in time, its own culture; and it forgets nothing. In order to understand, it is immensely important for the person who understands to be located outside the object of his or her creative understanding — in time, in space, and culture." (Bakhtin, Novyi Mir, in Speech Genres... p. 7).

Does masto's 'who to follow' suggestion-AI typecast (it seems I'm being drawn into a world of cat lovers (which is fine by me:)). AI: ah-ha, she's aging female, gone clucky, etc. #! send her all the cat ppl.

Culture is knowledge that is learned and shared and that people use to generate behaviour and interpret experience (McCurdy, Spradley, Shandy 2005, 1972).

I'm going to follow everyone... how many people can there be?

It's pretty cool to see Mastodon network expands so quickly in the past few days, there're issues around here and there, but it really looks cool and make all those issues not so important...

I always thought it funny that a decentralised, non-corporate internet produced corporatised, centrally controlled social media. Go well mastodon.

Mastodon @ SDF

"I appreciate SDF but it's a general-purpose server and the name doesn't make it obvious that it's about art." - Eugen Rochko
