@guofu Yeah - it's a couple miles from the metro to Goddard, hilly in spots, but you'll get to go through Old Greenbelt (my old neighborhood) which was one of the first planned communities in the US, dating to the New Deal. Enjoy!

@guofu I lived in Arlington when I worked at GSFC, so no, but the museum is cool;

@guofu impressive! I used to live in Greenbelt but bike down to the College Park Metro because it has the bike garage. Lake Artemesia and the surrounding trails are a nice ride.

Before you put a dozen emojies between words, imagine how hearing the below text could become tiring, even exhausting, and a cognitive drain on screen reader users.

* UTC

I usually prepare my Freshmaker show sets in advance, to be sure I have enough to fill the hour (and not go over) and not repeat tracks I've played before.

Tonight on @tilderadio, in a Labor Day special, I turn that all upside down. Favorites from the past 8 months (!) of the show, selected live, without a net. Hilarity ensues!

0000 UTC (and stay tuned for @alrs at 0200)

Hmm. Thought I had scheduled a new show, but you're getting a rerun instead. Oh well. I'll do this week's show live next week! The future is tomorrow!

Show thread

Freshmaker jazz show coming up at the top of the hour on . I need to be elsewhere so I won't be on the mic this week, but that just means you get more music and less yak from me. Enjoy!

Acquired a Thinkpad X230 over the weekend and have been hacking on it. I like the size and light weight (lightest Thinkpad in my collection.) Maxed out the RAM and put a decent SSD in it. Also replaced the slow old wifi card with a spare Intel AC card I had lying around, which makes a big difference. Installed Qubes and Heads; cool approach and very secure-feeling, but may be overkill for me. The adventure continues!
