RSS over everything. I know that folx in the #IndieWeb world are looking to make more IndieWeb reading clients (based on #ActivityPub, but I hope we take into account the power of RSS too.
Speaking on that, people nowadays cannot HANDLE ingesting thousands of posts at once. I wonder if anyone is working on making a reader that localizes a recommendation tool (local to their machine / account) so it can be used offline.

@jackyalcine As a service that polls a lot of feeds on behalf of the userbase, #NewsBlur can be used for a lot of neat things, such as weird search feeds on Craigslist, for example.
For me, I am more concerned about feedburner and tracking pixels, or insecure feeds (more eyes will catch injected content; weak benefit, but it's there).
It scrapes content and stuff, but I read my feeds in #newsbeuter / #newsboat, so I only get text, but synced via the service. ^_^
