We've been watching select Disney features from across time. Really depending on how much effort we need to "correct" the problems via conversation. We are not concerned by The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, but for things like Robin Hood or Sword in the Stone, we have to really unpack gender and, um, "medieval society".

But that isn't my point: books! All those features start with opening a book, or showing a shelf of story books.

I can't decide if it was lazy storytelling or Disney patronizing movie-goers.

"Listen, you know how for hundreds of years we had our book game on lock down? Well, we are gonna tell you those stories, but make them move. Get it? Move-ies! Also, once we film a book, it belongs to us culturally, for like ever, because copyright, ?!"
