#TheOrville episode, "Into the Fold", just a total tear fest over here. I feel it is an episode that would make Avery Brooks proud, and all my favorite episodes of #DS9 were written or directed by em, and all had a strong family component.
Even #TNG has The Inner Light, which starred Patrick Stewart's actual child for the same role in the show, and covers multiple generations of a family and community.
#StarTrek really shines when it covers family, intentional or otherwise. ^_^
