I haven't really explained it fully yet, but let me say: having a computer hooked to a tv running #Ubuntu + #Kodi + #Retroarch + #Flexget + #Deluge is pretty frakking awesome.
I wanted to use #Fedora, but being entertainment-y I wanted to run the most games, and all my #DnD games on #GOG are basically shipped to Ubuntu.
Did I mention that I get a #jabber message when particular torrents are added? Yeah. #micdrop
@0x3F I've seen a recipe (Flexget has "cookbooks") that does what you are thinking, with the seedbox and download. For me, I just leave it on Kodi on a regular account, so I can just turn on and off the tv to access it. I update manually, because I don't want to open up the web access to have Flexget update it. Let me know if you have any Flexget questions, I'll share any insights I've gotten. I have about three solid WTF questions for their forums, but I haven't joined yet.
@maiki yeah i had a look through the cookbooks and it seems like i should be able to set up something like what i want. I was also looking at jackett? i still have to do more research. ahh i see, i leave my pi running all the time and thats what kodi is on, so we have a similar setup :)
thanks for the offer of help, ill definitely chase you up when i get around to setting things up :)
@maiki this is so cool! i love this kind of "DIY digital infrastructure"!😀
my dream setup: i want to be able to pull files downloaded to my seedbox, categorize them by media type (tv, music, books, etc), and then make them available on the network for the pi connected to my tv running kodi or run beets on them and add them to my music library in the case of music. flexget looks like it might be what i want :)
i currently have transdrone setup so i can add stuff to my seedbox from my phone.jabber notif tho👌
