So I word-filtered 'content' to 'ass' and it's actually the most consistently confusing of all my word filters.

Bad idea of the day: If you post an image without alt-text, random users will be asked to caption the image, and your toot won't be visible to anyone other than these random users until two of them provide exactly the same description.
Finally getting around to going through my 1.2MB Org-Mode journal and exporting some entries to the Web/Gopher. 2015 and 2016 are done! Ugh. I've got crap going back to 2004 in there.

@emsenn and in any case "recommending we revert to the Internet as it was before Facebook" is a strawman—I don't know of anyone who is advocating for that? in any case, before facebook there were plenty of easy-to-use centralized platforms that didn't share all of facebook's problems (livejournal, friendster, myspace). imo recommending people use something other than facebook is more like advocating for public transit instead of cars than it is like advocating for restricting suffrage.
