I love having / on my phone. When I want to draft some writing while I'm out in the world, I just hop into Org-mode, do what needs doing, then scp the text file to my shell account so that I can grab it from whatever machine I'm on later, without needing a darned USB cable. I would use my stupid phone only about 10% as much as I do if I did't have shell tools on it.
