Unsolved suicide, FOSS4G 2007
Were you at FOSS4G 2007, in Canada?
Do you recognise this woman?
She was found in Italy that November, likely having killed herself, but she has never been identified and it is likely anyone related to her still do not know what happened to her.
It's not clear that she visited FOSS4G or was involved in free software, but a map on her person highlighted the conference hall with the correct dates.
Interpol has a program specifically seeking to identify the unsolved deaths of women.
After identifying one British woman a few years ago, bringing closure to her family, it seems that a second woman may have been conclusively identified this week. There are still many more to go.
You can read more about the program and the cases here, but be aware of the difficult reading.
