Just made an HTML4/5 version of a page with CSS and then made a version without CSS that's HTML3.2 compliant as an example for Computer Club, and not gonna lie, kinda mad that the version without CSS makes more sense than the one that does....
@nohomosuperior YOU DOUBT ME BUT LOOK AT THE SOURCE FOR THESE PAGES
IT JUST MAKES MORE SENSE TO USE HTML BUILT-INS WHEN AVAILABLE THAN AN ABSOLUTE MASSACRE OF CSS
I started teaching some CSS last week and I was gonna move on to more CSS and DIVs this week, but now I've gotta explain to people the reason we have CSS is because the web is so bloated and tiny examples like this one aren't the best lol
I've been using 4.01 (Strict!) with external style sheet for a long time now, & feel reasonably comfortable therewith. But I rarely try to do anything especially fancy.
@publius I love it when I find old-HTML-compliant pages or find that a page I haven't visited in several years hasn't changed since the early 2000s.
It especially feels nice when you find a website that's just as handcrafted as people's gopher holes. I think that's a big part of what made the old web special.
