@kat Good morning to you too 😃 . I had to look the name, it sounded familiar but I can't remember the movie , although I have seen it.

HP... Storytime!

Not only printers. HP is on top of my do-not-buy list. No firmware updates without contract is the top reason.

I bought a vpn router once and it handed out "" as search domain via dhcp. And this was not configurable.

I got through their support stages via email. They even fixed the firmware. But then I couldn't download it, because I don't have a support contract.

Ah and there is a HP scanner which has a firmware with a broken smtp authentication, so it can send scans via email only without auth... oh and ssl is broken too. There is actually an update, but the firmware upload page requires an internet explorer (the scanner is from 2019 btw.).

Well, I got an internet explorer connected, after the fw upload, it takes 5 min an the scanner display shows: "firmare update is fail" and reboots.

I tried to open a ticket, but I can't because I don't have a support contract...

I also owned an HP MicroServer and even payed for the iLO License. But that doesn't mean I would get firmare updates... I only get the function to update the bios firmware, not the right to download a firmware itself. That's still behind the support contract.

I'm fed up with them.

The Arecibo radio telescope, the largest observatory in the world for 50 years, collapsed today. Here’s a latch-hook rug I made of the message it broadcast in 1974 and the globular cluster that was the target of that message. Rip you big ass telephone

Fediverse Renderer project is live

And I look forward to retrieving and reusing the 500 plus images in my Cat photos collection at a previous instance

Mastodon User Data Backups allow you to export all of the Toots, images and videos you posted. The problem was, no way to access them.

Until now - we now have FediRenderer, thanks to a talented young programmer friend.

Report in detail in my blog post here

The screenshot below is one from the blog post - and shows a real Toot as rendered, from my Backup archive.

Huge thanks and kudos to the developer.

My Cats gallery at CatGram.JP

...will grown a lot when I can move the treasure trove from the backups there.

Recommended instance for Cat Lovers - no one there gets annoyed since you post too many Cat pics.

@themightyglider Well this year is strange , people are more online and I think that sometimes want to disconnect and then disappear for some days. I prefer to think so , the other reasons fo this year are too bad.

Remember Undetectable = Untransmittable and HIV is perfectly treatable and preventable.

@xiroux Es peligroso , o te ponen límite o no paras.
