Saw an osprey sitting on the railing of the pedestrian bridge over the James river today! It was so close to this one guy watching it, I thought it was his pet falcon at first. Seriously, no more than 7-10 feet from him.
It flew to a nearby tree, about 20 feet away. There it pruned and fluffed itself a bit, then closed its eyes to rest.
What a lovely place.
