It's annoying that everytime I use :diffsplit in Vim, the split is opened as a horizontal split (which isn't my expected behaviour). Luckily you can change the split direction by pressing CTRL-W H to change it to a horizontal layout.

although I rarely use this mode, I remember starting the command with ``vert''😉

:vert diffsplit

`:vert` is great. I never remember the key chord combo for vertical split so use this all the time.

@yrabbit oh, thanks for the hint! So many ways to achieve the same, but :vert is shorter, for sure!
