I tired #elementaryos and while the aparence is nice and all, The task management was just too "weird". The whole way of managing the windows and launching them was harder than expected to adjust from gnome. Add to that multiple UI bugs and that was it for me. So I'm back on fedora but silverblue this time. Gonna try to make a dkms driver work / be loadable over the time to make my wifi work.
"If there’s one thing I’ve learned in open source, it’s this: the more work you do, the more work gets asked of you. There is no solution to that problem that I’m aware of."
I had to build an « European COVID pass certificate » tester and well… anyone who claim this is an attack to private data or anything like that simply don’t understand how it work. Nothing is sent to anyone and everything is done locally even for the generation of the pass. Why is the media keep giving those uninformed people air time while a simple explanation could have close this debate….

I’m about to try elementary OS again as a workstation. Right now I was pretty happy with fedora but I’ve got some glitches that are just annoying… like those gnome software center ‘ bugs where you need to kill the process to be able to update or download anything… or those “night shift” (redish screen) that sometimes work and sometimes don’t. And those bugs aren’t “gnome” since those works nicely on archlinux with gnome. Elementary OS 6 look nice ^^’
