really improved since I tried it a while ago on the :)

Trying to work from Fedora linux on a .net framework 4.8 asp net website full of old .net framework sub-project dependency... No fun.

@michal but it's the purity of it. I like C (and not c++) for this: it does exactly what you ask of it; nothing more.

I have re-did many low level function only to understand them for fun and it made me progress a lot in every other language.

Php is "close to c" in term of performance compared to many other languages and still is lightyears from C speed. Same for "go".

So... A C activityPub not dependant of a big "helper stack" would nice to implement ^^'

@michal yep I was a fan of hubzilla... I even built some plugins for it for my instance a while ago. But it's PHP. I worked with PHP for many years and now for my "hobby projects" I just don't want to do any PHP stuff ^^'. So... Yeah I got a pretty stupid raison not to try hubzilla ;)

I'm looking for a fediverse server that would be able to run on a small arm device. I got about 200mo to spare and max 300mo or ram. Everything I found for now need at least 1gb of ram ^^'

Maybe I'll write an server in C one day ^^'

@dubst3pp4 I never used the HPlip Gui. Maybe you could try using native printer tools from the desktop environment ?

@dubst3pp4 what is the model of the printer ? In any case, a CUPs server with the correct driver (extracted from hplip) do work, there is not so much to do with a regular system.

I mean if you have systemd and hplib, that's about it. If you have openrc there is indeed a loot of manual actions to do. There is also some systemd service to launch for network discovery. But if it work via usb, the problem is not "printer related" anymore :)

@dubst3pp4 hplib and it's done ? PPD file are also provided if you want to go "manual" ^^' archlinux, as always, has good "Linux generic" documentation :)

Mozilla’s now director of public policy once asked me, with a straight face, why I was giving them a hard time and holding Mozilla to a higher standard: “we’re just another Silicon Valley tech company.”

But that’s not what you tell people publicly, is it, Mozilla?

Still, it’s time y’all got this.

Mozilla is a half-billion-dollar for-profit corporation – whose CEO makes >$3M/yr – that has a foundation do its PR.

@Andrii Yeah we, the vaccinated, should have all died and.. yet we didn't and millions on people are just fine... Please, again, don't waste your time with me.

@Andrii ah don't loose your time with that bullshit with me. Sorry to have challenged your religion. Go back at it and I'll leave you to it. Bye :)

@Andrii just look at the image quality... Any post 2017 phones does better than that :p common

@Andrii Denial ? A single image search show that it's from an archive talking about some blood iliness 7 years ago... And look at that color haha... I'm going to take my denial to this bullshit to the grave... Or the drive through.. I'm hungry

@Andrii I miss the time when fake informations were at least, at minima, credible at some point.... "" .. what a wierd pro-life, pro-church, anti-women rights, anti-vaccine and COVID denial website. It nearly represent everything I hate as point of view in people... that's something.

Sometimes I go away from fedora... I install a VM with bridged network on the new OS and then... Try not going back to fedora... (Bridged network work out of the box on fedora (redhat tech) and not on others... You need to setup de bridges or use the cursed NAT..)

I had the right battery... But not the "adapter" for my cmos battery. So with the help of non-conductive duck tape, I got a new cmos battery in my laptop ! ;)

The battery is less than a buck worth.. and the small two cable with the protective rubber make it about 20 euro in my area... So... Yeah... :P I took the two cable from the previous flat one.
