Never thought I'd spend this much time trying to find the IP address of a light bulb, nor that I'd ever utter such a phrase and have it actually be meaningful.

At the very least, I was surprised to see an old favorite of mine decided to pickup right where he left off twelve years ago. If you like independent music, give the tartanpodcast a listen. Available on iTunes and from the show's website:

Been thinking about lost media lately, and something I don't think I've see discussed is podcasts from the really early days of the medium. I first starting listening to podcasts back in 2005 or 2006, and just realized that so much of those old episodes have simply evaporated. It's weird to think that I might have the only copy of someone's passion project from all those years ago.

SDF aNONradio is celebrating 25 years on September 7th. Here is a little blurb from the Honolulu Weekly October 8th, 1997 asking the question: "The Internet has been touted as the public square of the Global Village. but does it have a decent radio station?"

How many of these are still around today? Come and party with us September 7th, 2021!

It's not really summer in Florida until you get a tropical storm. Just a big mess of rain and wind right now, so minimal worries on our end. Keeping an eye out for other severe weather, though.

Updated my telco system at home. Running a FreePBX system with SDF as a trunk and a few local extensions. Now comes the hard part, distributing the phones across the sites.

My telco stack, because I need more projects ;-). From left to right, a US Robotics Sportster Faxmodem, Bellsouth trimline-style phone (courtesy @publius), AT&T answering machine, vtech cordless phone. Not pictured is the Linksys SPA1001 FXS VoIP Phone Adapter that these tie into.

Also, can't wait to give this a listen! If you've never listened to Angel Olsen, give her NPR Tiny Desk a listen:

Interested in programming for my HP 95LX, even though my programming abilities are... limited. What better baptism into programming than 8088 assembly!

If anyone has better solutions, please let me know. I don't have very specific goals in mind at the moment aside from a mail client idea that syncs with a host machine (like the old Palm desktop).

Sure feels nice having an organized and clean desk. Finally have some room to work!

Reviving my personal homepage, I’m sure *this* time will be different XD

Hoping everyone out there had a great Christmas!

Just heard that youtube-dl had their Github taken down at the behest of the RIAA. I've often used it as a sort of YouTube VCR to archive interesting clips, many of which were later lost. This really sucks.
