The last "noisy get-together" held in an apartment, in which I personally participated, was one which the upstairs neighbours were invited to & attended. It was on a weekend, so the downstairs neighbour, an architect's office, was not affected. And the building was of the one-apartment-per-floor type, so there was no "either side" as such. One room of the apartment abuts on the building next door, but it was placarded No Admittance.
