I spent some time in therapy when I was a kid. On my first visit to a new psychologist or psychiatrist they would always recommend lifestyle changes - diet, exercise, etc. .
I'm very lucky that, 25 years later, the healthy lifestyle stuff has started to work for me. It takes effort, it's real easy to slip back into bad habits. But. I feel much better with regular exercise, adequate sleep, a vegan diet, and so on. Much less anxious and depressed.
