Oof, my half-hour Kdenlive project is exporting at 5 fps. 🪦

I *might* be pushing the compositing a bit too far. I really want to find a solid, easy-to-pick-up After Effects alternative on Linux.

So far Blender has been the most recommended thing but I just have not been able to get over the fact that it is very explicitly designed to be a 3D modeling and animation software first, and not really a canvas-based compositing tool.

Something about After Effects just clicks with me. I think it’s the 2D canvas plus the timeline/keyframe approach. I have tried node-based animation tools and they also just seem way over complicated for what I want to do. 😭

@cassidyjames did you try Natron already? natrongithub.github.io/

It's also node based kind of, but it seems to aim for being an AE alternative so is maybe still more palatable?

@bkhl I've tried it in the past and it was too confusing to use under the deadline of a project. I'll have to give it another go when I have more time to learn.
