I was playing with the idea of leaving #Youtube entirely but I'm still on the fence.
Threads like this #HackerNews page bring me more and more into the idea that I don't need Youtube/Google.
@Valium Butchute seems to be a for profit business using webtorrent. More power too them but I'd rather use something decentralized and part of the fediverse.
@art yeah, I'm using bitchute only because I only have a raspberry pi 3 which I use to host other things (wordpress, nextcloud, a gnusocial instance that replaced mastodon) and I don't think it will be enough for a peertube instance.
Let alone that when I was in youtube I used to upload thousands of copyrighted material (musical performances on tv)
@art bitchute is another option. But if you can host it, go for peertube
