@andyc some of these I really dislike, and Mrs Basil ponders divorce whenever I bring it up 😆

@basil @andyc
The Deer Hunter is one of the worst films I've ever had the misfortune to watch. The interminable wedding scene is the most self-indulgent, pretentious, and boring filmaking ever released by a major studio. Utter rubbish.

@basil @andyc
Actually, I've just remembered I still have it on DVD. It's going to a charity shop, this week.

@andyc Seen them all but some only once like "40 year old virgin" or many moons ago like "Deer Hunter" or "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". As always with these lists some you like others don't . Keep enjoying it.

@ghostdancer The "40 year old virgin" was a joke. The only Top N list that has appeared on is 'Worst of all-time' :-)

@andyc Thanks, I recall watching it but didn't find it anything special but maybe the "experts" thought that it was. There are many US super successful comedies that I don't find funny and always think is a cultural thing.

@ghostdancer To be fair, I've never actually watched it so it could be on par with Citizen Kane.

I just happened across it in our media library. I assume it was my daughters film and I just mindlessly burned the DVD years ago.

@andyc IMHO it's not on par with Citizen Kane not even on the same golf course, or even planet.

@ghostdancer @andyc it's pretty funny if you like Steve Carell, maybe less so if you're a middle aged, awkward with the lads and the ladies, a nerd called Andy, and you don't like one liners.

@dvdmrsdn Not a bad movie, just not on the same level as the other s that @andyc put on the list.

@ghostdancer @andyc It's up there with Tropic Thunder and Meet the Fokkers.
