He told me interesting anecdotes.
1. He met a graduate who had a B. Sc. in 'Computer Science and AI'. When he enthusiastically asked her what her final year project was (expecting an interesting real-life program), it was merely a research paper
2. When asked about the choice of implementation language, this provoked a lot of endless, tedious discussion which was rapidly curtailed by the employer. My lad just said 'Python - as that's what I know'. The chap said 'Great, that's the right answer'
@andyc re #1 similar for me. My project was essentially a research paper written around a few non-novel scripts solving simple problems (e.g. N Queens problem).
